Eligibility Criteria For GKN Automotive Recruitment 2026:
- Completed studies in Mechanical engineering, Structural engineering, Vehicle engineering, Mechatronics or comparable degree.
- > 2 years experience in CAE analysis (FEA), preferably for powertrain components.
Technical skills:
- Capability to work independently on static and fatigue CAE tasks, from identification of boundary conditions to analysing the simulation results
- Understanding of eDrive powertrain systems: function, loads, force flow, boundary conditions and typical failure modes
- Ideally: experience in bolt analysis acc. to VDI 2230, thermal analysis or gear analysis
Soft-skills:
- Communication skills: able to explain analysis results in a clear and understandable way to the product development team
- Strong focus on internal customer satisfaction
- Team player mindset
Tools:
- Proficient in using FEA tools (preferably Altair Simlab, MSC Marc Mentat, Altair Hyperview and Femfat)
- Basic CAD skills (preferably Creo Parametric or Catia V5)
- Ideally experience with gear analysis tools (SMT Masta, Romax, Kisssoft, SABR etc.)
- Ideally experience with PTC Windchill
- Microsoft Office Standard Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Job Description:
Supporting the virtual product validation by conducting CAE analysis for eDrive components and systems (gearbox, eMotor, inverter). Product optimization by proposing design improvements based on analysis outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting mechanical CAE analysis: mainly static strength and fatigue analysis using
- Finite-Element-Method, but also bolt analysis and thermal FEA if required
- Identification of boundary conditions, FE model building and result interpretation
- Writing analysis reports and presentation of results to the GKN development team
- Following and improving established GKN Ways of Working for simulation
- Actively proposing design improvements based on analysis outcomes
- Supporting product development team in design decisions
- Independent planning and organization of own taks, using GKN’s resource management system
