Eligibility Criteria For ideaForge Recruitment 2026:
- Current student or recent graduate in Aeronautical or Aerospace or Electronics Engineering.
Job Description:
- Design of Aerospace Propulsion Systems (APS) element mainly Electronic Speed Controller (ESC)
- Good in basics, moderate & advanced level of Electronics, Power electronics & other basic Engineering subjects of the related domain.
- Knowledge, Understanding of motor control electronic circuits or similar electronic systems.
- Strong knowledge of power electronics and embedded systems.
- Familiarity with BLDC motor control algorithm like Trapezoidal & FOC control.
- Experience in CAD tools for circuit design (e.g., Altium, Eagle) would be preferred.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink) for modelling and analysis would be preferred.
- Familiarity with motor drivers/inverters, PWM techniques (Sine PWM, SVPWM) and feedback control systems (PI, PID etc.)
- Familiarity with microcontrollers/DSPs from TI, STM or similar vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing of Propulsion Systems: Testing of Motor, ESC & Propeller combinations. Should be able to corelate the test finding with fundamentals of the respective system.
- Troubleshooting & Design of Power Electronics Systems: Should be good in framing & designing Propulsion system architecture. Should be able to corelate Mechanical & electromechanical sub-systems as a single system.
- Develop Codes & Algorithms: Develop codes & algorithms to standardize design of various aerospace propulsion elements, along with various performance stability & aerodynamics criteria and calculations. (Preferably in C++, Java, Python, Matlab & MS excel)
- Adaptable & Open to new learnings: Should be adaptable & open to new domain learnings in terms of understanding & visualizing how things interact, specifically in Aerodynamics & Flight Mechanics domain.
- Fast Paced Working: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Design Management: Manage the lifecycle of product designs from ideation to realization. Make design & engineering documentation to ensure comprehensive design, documentation, including specifications and Product/Part/Sub modules design reports, with adherence to applicable standards.
- Component Selection and Design Troubleshooting: Selection of off the shelf available ESCs, Co-ordinate with Indian ESC OEMs, non-Chinese OEMs for tuning the ESC element & later take responsibility of designing the ESC in house with appropriate hardware components to ensure designs are producible and scalable.
- Testing & Validation: Doing testing & validation of various combinations of ESCs, Motors or Engines (incl. of ECUs, PDUs & other Electromechanical Auxiliary units) & Propellers and validating through Inferences & Conclusions with reasoning.
- Coding, Data Science & Machine Learning: Doing testing & validation of various combinations of ESCs, Motors or Engines (incl. of ECUs, PDUs & other Electro-mechanical Auxiliary units) & Propellers using DS & ML techniques preferably using Python & Matlab. Experience with programming languages such as C/C++ for embedded systems is must
- Quality and Reliability: Champion the application of ESC to ensure consistent quality across design iterations and manufacturing batches. Uphold the highest standards of quality throughout the design process and investigate and resolve any quality issues arising from design or manufacturing processes.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of design, engineering, reports and test results to facilitate troubleshooting and future development.
- Cross Functional Team: Interact with cross functional teams to understand the respective designs details.
- Standards: Knowledge of safety standards and certifications related to UAV systems. Familiarity with regulatory requirements for UAV operations.
