Intelligence Bureau (IB) Recruitment 2025: Intelligence Bureau (IB) is an internal intelligence agency of India which is used to gather intelligence from within India and also execute counter-intelligence and counter-terrorism tasks. The IB comprises employees from law enforcement agencies such as Indian Police Service (IPS) or Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and the military. Rajiv Jain, a 1980 batch Police officer from the Jharkhand cadre, is the current director of IB, holding the position since January 1, 2017.
The objective then was to monitor Russian troop deployments in Afghanistan, fearing a Russian invasion of British India through the North-West during the late 19th century.

Eligibility Criteria for Intelligence Bureau (IB) Recruitment 2025:
- Diploma in Engineering in the fields of Electronics or Electronics & Telecommunication or Electronics & Communication or Electrical & Electronics or Information Technology or Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or Computer Applications from a Government-recognized University/Institute. Or
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Electronics or Computer Science or Physics, or Mathematics from a Government-recognized University/Institute. Or
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications from a government-recognized University/Institute.
Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as on 14-09-2025. Age is relaxable for reserved category candidates.
Selection Process for Intelligence Bureau (IB) Recruitment 2025:
Scheme of Examination:

| Tier-I | Online exam of objective type MCQs (100 questions) based on General Mental Ability (25%) & Combination of subjects as per essential qualifications (75%). [Negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer] | 100 |

- Duration: 2 hours
- The candidate has to appear in Tier-I at one of the centres allotted to him/her out of his/her choice of five cities.
- There will be negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer. No marks would be awarded for an un-attempted question.
- The questions marked as “Mark for Review” by the candidates will not be considered for evaluation. b) In order to achieve qualitative selection & recruit the best available talent, there would be cut-off marks (out of 100) in Tier-I exam as under: UR-35, OBC-34, SC/ST-33 & EWS-35 (all Ex-servicemen would be treated in their own category viz., UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS) c) On the basis of their performance & normalization of marks in Tier-I exam, candidates would be shortlisted for Skill test and Personal Interview.

- Male candidates of UR, EWS and OBC categories: Examination Fee (Rs. 100/-) in addition to Recruitment Processing Charges (Rs. 550) i.e. Rs. 650/-
Note: All SC/ST candidates, female candidates and those Ex-Servicemen who are eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of examination fee, i.e., Rs. 100/-. However, they will have to pay the Recruitment Processing Charges, i.e., Rs. 550/-
