Job Description:
Microchips Design Automation (DA) team in Chennai is looking for a CAD Engineer to develop strategic EDA applications. A successful candidate in this role will design and implement EDA solutions that cater to the needs of the customers. He / She will also work closely with various business units across the globe to understand their needs and foster innovative ideas to solve complex problems. Development responsibilities will span different software tools, APIs, and utilities.
Skills:
- 0 – 3 years of experience in development and optimization of EDA applications
- Basic VLSI CMOS and Digital Design knowledge
- Basic knowledge on Digital Place and Route Flow (e.g. Synopsys ICC / ICC2 flow and / or Cadence Innovus Flow)
- Hands-on scripting experience in Python (preferred) / PERL / TCL
- Working knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso environment is a plus
- Working knowledge on SKILL, SKILL UI (or any GUI development tool) is a plus
- Working knowledge of RCS (IC Manage / Design sync preferred)
- Knowledge on Software processes (esp Agile), bug tracking tools etc
- Working knowledge on Linux environment
- Self-motivated individual with technical problem solving and debugging skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
