NRL Recruitment 2025 Out: Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) a subsidiary of M/s Oil India Limited (OIL), is a Miniratna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. It has a 3.0 MMTPA Oil Refinery at Numaligarh in the district of Golaghat, Assam and Marketing Terminals at Numaligarh, Assam and Siliguri, West Bengal.
Numaligarh Refinery was conceived in the historic ‘Assam Accord’ of 1985. NRL has displayed creditable performance since commencement of commercial production of its refinery in October, 2000. Since then the Company has diversified into Petrochemicals, Natural Gas transportation etc. NRL is also the largest producer of Paraffin Wax in the country.

Eligibility Criteria For NRL Recruitment 2025:
Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET)
- 1st class bachelor’s degree (relevant engineering field) with at least 65% marks, from a recognized institute
- Disciplines: Civil, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electrical, Metallurgy, Chemical, Computer Science.
Assistant Officer Trainee (AOT)
GATE/ NET qualified, 1st class post-graduate from a recognized university.
Age Limit: Maximum Age: 30 years as on 10.10.2025 (relaxations as per categories)
Selection Process For NRL Recruitment 2025:
The selection process for the advertised positions at Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) consists of two main stages: a Computer Based Test (CBT) and a Personal Interview (PI).
Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
All eligible candidates are called for the CBT, which is objective in nature and has no negative marking.
For Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs), the CBT has four sections:
- Subject Knowledge (related to qualifying degree, 80% of questions)
- General Knowledge/Current Affairs
- English Language
- Reasoning & Numerical Ability
For Assistant Officer Trainees (AOTs), the CBT has three sections:
- General Knowledge (including Indian and World Energy Scenario, 60% of questions)
- Reasoning & Numerical Ability
- English Language
Stage 2: Personal Interview (PI)
- Candidates who qualify the CBT, ranked by merit, are called for the Personal Interview in a ratio of 1:5.
Qualifying Criteria
- Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in both the CBT and the PI separately to be considered further.
Final Selection
- The final merit list is prepared based on 85% weightage to the CBT score and 15% to the PI.
- Offers of appointment are issued in order of merit, subject to the number of vacancies and medical fitness.
Other Requirements
- Selected candidates have to execute a Surety Bond of ₹3,00,000 to serve NRL or its subsidiaries for three years after training.
- Appointment is subject to pre-employment medical fitness as per prescribed standards.
- Document verification is done before the Personal Interview.
