TNPSC Recruitment 2026: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is a department of the government of Tamil Nadu that is responsible for governing the recruitment of personnel into the state’s public service. It is the successor of the Madras Service Commission, which came into being under an Act of the Madras Legislature in 1929 and was the first Provincial Public Service Commission in India.

In 1923, the Indian Government established a Public Service Commission to examine the salary structure of the Indian Civil Service and the possibility of transferring some of the duties to provincial services.

Eligibility Criteria for TNPSC Recruitment 2026:

Education Qualification For Assistant Public Prosecutor:

Must possess B.L. Degree of any University or Institution accredited by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grant;
Must be a member of the Bar and have worked actively in criminal courts for at least five years.
Must possess adequate knowledge of Tamil

Age Limit: The candidates should have completed the age of 26 years as on 1st July 2025.

For SC/ ST/ BC/ MBC/ OBC: No Maximum Age limit
Others: Maximum Age (Should not have completed) – 36 years

Selection Process for TNPSC Recruitment 2026:

The examination for the post of Assistant Public Prosecutor, Grade-II comprises of three successive stages:

Preliminary examination for the selection of candidates for the Main examination.
Main examination
Interview

Examination Fees:

One Time Registration Fee: Rs. 150/- (Candidates should register only once in the One Time Registration, Successfully registered One Time Registration is valid for five years from the date of registration)
Preliminary Examination Fee: Rs. 100/-
Mains Examination Fee: Rs. 200/-
For PwD /SC/ ST/ Destitute Widow: Nil
For Backward Classes: Three Free Chances
For Ex-Servicemen: Two free chances.

Mode of Payment: Candidates can pay the examination fee by online mode through Net Banking/ Credit card/ Debit card/ UPI.
