Eligibility Criteria for GAIL ET Recruitment 2026:
Educational Qualification for Executive Trainee (ET):
- Chemical: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Chemical/ Petrochemical/ Chemical Technology/ Petrochemical Technology/ Chemical Technology & Polymer Science/ Chemical Technology & Plastic Technology with a minimum of 65% marks.
- Instrumentation: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Control/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Electrical & Instrumentation/ Electronics/ Electrical & Electronics with minimum 65% Marks
- Electrical: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Electrical/ Electrical, Electronics & Power/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electrical & Power with minimum 65% marks.
- Mechanical: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Mechanical/ Production/ Production & Industrial/ Manufacturing/ Mechanical & Automobile with minimum 65% marks.
Notes:
- The candidate must have appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering-2026
- Candidates who have completed their engineering degree in 2025 or are in their final year (2025-26) are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who graduated in 2024 or earlier are not eligible.
Age Limit: The upper age limit for the post of Executive trainee should be Below 26 Years as on 18th March 2026.
Selection Process for GAIL ET Recruitment 2026:
- Based on the GATE-2026 marks and requirement, candidates will be short- listed for further selection process for the position of Executive Trainee in the above disciplines. Please note that only GATE-2026 marks are valid for this recruitment exercise. GATE marks of 2025 or prior to that is not valid.
- Eligible candidates who wish to apply for the position of Executive Trainees in GAIL will be required to first register for GATE-20256 and, after that, appear in GATE-2026 as per instructions and timelines notified by GATE-2026 Organizing Institute in one of the following relevant GATE Examination Papers. A list of disciplines/branches considered equivalent to each of the above 04 disciplines advertised is given below.
