NCERT Faculty Recruitment 2026: National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has released an official notification for Faculty Recruitment 2026. Through this recruitment, NCERT will fill 117 vacancies for Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Deputy Librarian, and Assistant Librarian posts.

Eligibility Criteria for NCERT Faculty Recruitment 2026
NCERT has prescribed different eligibility criteria for each post. Therefore, candidates must read the post-wise qualification carefully.
Professor
- Candidate must hold a Ph.D. and must have at least 10 publications.
- Additionally, the candidate must score a minimum Research Score of 120.
- Candidate must have 10 years teaching/research experience, or must have outstanding professional experience of 10 years.
Associate Professor
- Candidate must hold a Ph.D. and must have a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks.
- Moreover, the candidate must have 8 years of experience.
- Candidate must have at least 7 publications and a minimum Research Score of 75.
Assistant Professor
- Candidate must have a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks.
- Additionally, the candidate must qualify NET/SLET/SET (or must have Ph.D as per UGC exemption rules).
- OR the candidate must have a Ph.D from a foreign university ranked among the Top 500 as per UGC norms.
Deputy Librarian
- Candidate must have a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks.
- Additionally, the candidate must have at least 8 years of experience.
- Candidate should have ICT/innovative library work experience. Moreover, Ph.D is desirable.
Assistant Librarian
- Candidate must have a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks.
- Additionally, the candidate must qualify NET/SLET/SET (or must have Ph.D as per UGC exemption rules).
Age Limit
- NCERT will follow the age of retirement/superannuation as per UGC/NCERT, Government of India norms.
- Additionally, NCERT will provide age relaxation and marks relaxation for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PWD categories as per UGC/GOI/NCERT rules.
Selection Process for NCERT Faculty Recruitment 2026
NCERT will shortlist candidates based on academic score and merit. After that, NCERT will call shortlisted candidates for an interview.
- Assistant Professor: NCERT will call up to 50 candidates (category-wise) for the first vacancy and 05 candidates for every additional vacancy. Moreover, candidates must score at least 60 academic score to qualify for shortlisting.
- Professor & Associate Professor: NCERT will follow UGC guidelines. However, NCERT will call up to 10 candidates (category-wise) for the first vacancy and 05 candidates for every additional vacancy.
